The Administrative Appeals Office (AAO) held on January 9, 2009, that a 5-year Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (M.B.B.S.) degree from India is the equivalent of a U.S. Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) degree and discussed evidence of degree equivalency.
The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) amended the regulations regarding temporary nonagricultural workers, and their U.S. employers, within the H-2B nonimmigrant classification. The final rule removes certain limitations on H-2B employers and adopts streamlining measures in order to facilitate the lawful employment of foreign temporary nonagricultural workers.
WASHINGTON – April 8, 2009, USCIS announced it continues to accept H-1B nonimmigrant visa petitions subject to the fiscal year 2010 (FY 2010) cap. USCIS will continue to monitor the number of H-1B petitions received for both the 65,000 regular cap and the 20,000 U.S. master’s degree or higher educational exemption cap.
