USCIS has confirmed that beginning on June 30, 2008, they will begin issuing some EADs with validity periods of 2 years. Note the use of the word "some" in the previous sentence. Not all cards will be issued with a vailidy of 2 years, USCIS will decide which EADs are granted validity dates at their discretion.
If the priority date for an applicant is unavailable, they may issue an EAD with a validity date of 2 years. The use of the word "may" indicates that it is a discretionary decision and all applicants with a pending Adjustment and an unavailable priority date will not automatically obtain a renewal for 2 years. Also note that those with pending Adjustments and current priority dates will continue to receive approvals for a period of 1 year.
