In another round of turnabouts, the USCIS and Department of State have released GOOD news for employment-based permanent residency beneficiaries. As of July 17th, the USCIS will accept I-485 applications according to the ORIGINAL July Visa Bulletin (http://travel.state.gov/visa/frvi/bulletin/bulletin_3258.html) This decision overcomes the July 2nd announcement that visa numbers would not be available in the employment based groups as of that date and until at least October. In order to address the time lost between July 2nd and July 17th, the USCIS is extending the filing deadline for persons filing under the July visa bulletin to August 17th, 2007. The related USCIS press release is found at http://www.uscis.gov/files/pressrelease/VisaBulletinUpdate17Jul07.pdf |
