Premium Processing of Some I-140 Petitions to Resume June 16, 2008

As many of you may recall, USCIS cancelled processing of I-140 petitions about one year ago. Effective today, June 16, 2008, USCIS will resume premium processing of I-140 petitions under very limited circumstances.

USCIS Announces Issuance of EADs Valid for 2 Years

USCIS has confirmed that beginning on June 30, 2008, they will begin issuing some EADs with validity periods of 2 years.   Note the use of the word "some" in the previous sentence. Not all cards will be issued with a vailidy of 2 years, USCIS will decide which EADs are granted validity dates at their discretion.

USCIS Runs Random Selection Process for H-1B Petitions

WASHINGTON – U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) today conducted the computer-generated random selection processes on H-1B petitions, to select which H-1B petitions for fiscal year 2009 (FY 2009) would continue to full adjudication. If approved these H-1B petitions will be eligible to receive an H-1B visa number.
